What is Globalhagen Hostel?
Globalhagen Hostel is Copenhagen’s first non-profit Hostel. We are one of four social enterprises of the non-governmental organisation Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke/ActionAid Denmark, fighting inequality in over 40 countries around the world. We are mostly run by volunteers, and located in Nørrebro, in the heart of Copenhagen. Our profit goes to a social project democratically chosen by the volunteers every two years. Our core values are Solidarity, Cooperation and Diversity. Please jump to our Homepage to find out more or book a stay.
We care a lot about sustainability and our planet, and we have made it our mission to reinvent tourism in a more sustainable way. The Globalhagen Blog tries to inspire our guests and anyone that is curious to have a better impact – environmentally as well as socially – as tourists.
Who is writing?
My name is Florence Dejardin, I am from Munich in Germany and currently an intern at Globalhagen Hostel. I am is 23 years old and studying International Cultural And Business Studies. I believe that Globalhagen Hostel represents everything the term “sustainable tourism” stands for. When I first came to Copenhagen, I would have benefitted a great deal of a platform with inspirations for sustainable activities in and around the city. That’s why I started with this blog: so that none of you have to miss out! This platform is supposed to take the unique concept of Globalhagen Hostel one step further, by providing an online sustainable tourist guide for all the lovely travellers coming our way.
